A day filled with epic wildlife, nostalgic road trip moments, and a final toast to an unforgettable journey.
Morning: A Final Safari Experience

π Morning Safari Drive β The best time to spot predators and early risers as they move through the reserve. Look out for lions on the hunt, elephants gathering at the watering hole, and cheetahs scanning the horizon.

π Lunch at Diesel & CrΓ¨me β A quirky, retro-style roadhouse diner known for its legendary milkshakes, gourmet burgers, and vintage decor. The perfect stop to refuel before the final stretch back to Cape Town.

Safari Adventure at Garden Route Game Lodge
Today, we leave the forests of Tsitsikamma behind and journey toward the wide-open landscapes of the Western Cape, where an authentic Big Five safari awaits.
Morning: Farewell to Wild Spirit & Scenic Drive to Safari Country

π Scenic drive to Garden Route Game Lodge, passing through rolling hills, fynbos-covered plains, and open farmland.
π Stop at Elvis Brew, a quirky roadside farm stall near George Airport, perfect for a freshly brewed coffee, homemade treats, or a light lunch in a relaxed, countryside setting.
Afternoon: Arrival at the Game Lodge & Relaxation
π Check in at the Garden Route Game Lodge, one of the most accessible Big Five reserves along the Garden Route, offering stunning views, African-inspired accommodations, and top-tier wildlife experiences.

Evening: Big Five Safari at Golden Hour

Today blends thrill, wildlife encounters, and pure nature, from the ultimate adrenaline rush at Bloukrans Bridge to the pristine beauty of Nature’s Valley.
Morning: A Choice Between Adrenaline & Elephant Encounters
π Start the day with breakfast at Wild Spirit Lodge, soaking in the fresh mountain air and tranquil surroundings.
π Optional: Bloukrans Bridge Bungee Jump – At 216 meters, the highest commercial bridge bungee jump in the world. For those brave enough, this is the ultimate adrenaline rush.
π Plettenberg Elephant Sanctuary – A rare opportunity for a hands-on experience with rescued elephants. Walk beside these gentle giants, learn about their behavior, and even receive a gentle trunk hug. This sanctuary focuses on ethical, responsible elephant interactions.
π Lunch at the sanctuary or Fourways Farm Stall – Choose between lunch on-site or a visit to this rustic farm eatery, offering fresh, farm-style meals near Wild Spirit Lodge.
Afternoon: Nature’s Valley Beach & Salt River Hike

Hike the Salt River Mouth Trail (4-5 km) – A stunning trail through dense indigenous forest, leading to a breathtaking lagoon and rocky shoreline. Some sections can be challenging, so we’ll check the conditions beforehand.

Morning: Breakfast & Big Tree Walk

I’ll be on the grill (maybe with a little help from you?), serving up juicy steaks, boerewors (local sausage), and all the classic flavors of South Africa. Expect good food, great stories, and new friendships—the perfect way to kick off an incredible journey.
